Coordination of Large Scale Emergency Incidents

The County Office of Emergency Services is the lead County agency responsible for coordinating the response to large-scale emergency incidents. Among the planning and incident management actions of OES are:

  • Manage the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
  • Coordinate centralized press releases
  • Liaison with state, federal, and local agencies
  • Manage post-disaster recovery
  • Convene the Board of Supervisors for special sessions
  • Track costs and damages
  • Coordinate residential/commercial evacuation planning
  • Coordinate responses by County departments
  • Coordinate the operation of the Multi-Agency Coordinating (MAC) Group
