County Office of Emergency Services is the lead County agency responsible for coordinating the response to large scale emergency incidents. Among the planning and incident management actions of OES are:
- Manage the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
- Coordinate centralized press releases
- Liaison with state, federal, and local agencies
- Manage post-disaster recovery
- Convene the Board of Supervisors for special sessions
- Track costs and damages
- Coordinate residential/commercial evacuation planning
- Coordinate responses by County departments
- Coordinate the operation of the Multi-Agency Coordinating (MAC) Group
